Hello

We are Seth and Ashley and we want to thank you for taking the time to read our story. We admire that you have chosen life for your baby, and we pray that God will be with you during this time.

We have been together for 15 years. We started dating when Ashley was a sophomore in high school at age 16 and Seth was 20, a freshmen in college. We dated through college and married 7 years later in 1999. We have shared 8 years of marriage and look forward to many more years together. After a couple years of marriage, we knew we were ready to start our family. After trying to conceive on our own for over a year, we finally decided to contact a specialist. After 3 unsuccessful attempts at IVF, we knew God must have a different plan for our family. We decided to look into adoption and a friend of ours had recently adopted through LINK and had a great experience. We knew we were on our way to the family we have always dreamed of!

A little bit about us- Seth is a real estate investor and has owned his own business for the last 8 years. He also is a general contractor as well as a loan officer. He manages to stay very busy! Seth really enjoys working for himself. He is very motivated and very ambitious! He also finds the time to coach at our local high school as assistant football coach- this is something he has loved doing for the last 7 years. Seth also is an avid golfer- when he does have free time, he loves playing golf with his buddies. I work at our local community college for the President. This is something I really enjoy doing. I get to work a lot with the students and the scholarship program. My job is very rewarding- helping students and really getting to know them is very exciting! Seth and I both really enjoy our work, but more importantly we love spending time together, with our family and friends, traveling, watching movies, exercising, and playing golf! We also enjoy going to our condo at one of the North Carolina beaches with our family.

Seth and I were both raised in our hometown as well as both sides of our families. We love our small community. We live in a small town in North Carolina in a quite, safe and family –oriented neighborhood. Our home is 32 bedrooms, 2 ˝ baths and has a great backyard! My parents are less than a mile from our home and Seth’s parents are a little more than 5 minutes away. Both of our families are extremely supportive and excited about our future family and our decision to adopt. I have an older sister who just had a baby boy in December. He is literally the “apple” of my eye. He is the first grandchild on my side. Seth has a younger sister who has a boy and a girl, and his younger brother is expecting a baby boy this summer! Seth and I both adore our niece and nephews- we can’t wait to give them a knew cousin!

Another member of our family is our chocolate lab, Gracie. She is 8 years old. We have had her since she was 8 weeks old. She loves to run and play and has a great time being with our family! Needless to say, she keeps us very active!

Seth and I are active members of a Lutheran church in our hometown. I have been a lifelong member of that same church and Seth grew up in a Baptist church where his grandfather was the preacher for over 40 years. Our current pastor has been extremely instrumental and supportive of our decision to adopt because he has always been very aware of our struggles with infertility. He couldn’t be happier for us!
