We support young womens efforts to continue pregnancy while providing for their child’s future and her life. We believe it is ultimately the birth parent(s) who make the decision to seek the adoption alternative.
Meet Larry and Karen

Dear Birth Parent(s),

Choosing to give your baby life is one of the most admirable things I think a person could do. Larry and I admire you for what you are doing. I don't think I could even imagine what a difficult decision that has to be. I pray that God gives you his peace as you make this decision. Thank you for reading the following story.

Larry and I met in June of 1994. I was working as a nurse in a local nursing home. Larry was starting as a security officer at the nursing home part-time. From the very moment we first met, I believe we had an instant connection. I was working 3pm-11pm at the time, so when I would get off work, Larry and I would talk for hours out in the parking lot. After about a month, he finally got enough courage to ask me out. Our first date was on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We drove about 6 hours that day, and I don't think we stopped talking the entire time. I knew then I found the person I wanted to be with. Larry moved in with my parents about 3 months later due to his father was selling his house. We got married on April 29, l995. It was a beautiful day.

What was interesting when we first met was I had never dated anyone who was born and raised in the same town. My dad worked for a private construction company in the office. Because of this, we moved when the job was done. I moved approximately 18 times in 26 years. Larry has one step brother Johnny. His mother lives about 15 minutes from us. They lived in a small town in North Carolina all of his life. I on the other hand come from a large family. My dad has 9 brothers and sisters and my mom has 6 sibilings. Even though we are spread up and down the east coast, My mom's side of the family gets together every year in July for a reunion. All the aunts, uncles, and cousins get together for 3 days. We have loads of fun. They are all are very excited about this adoption.

My name is Karen and I am 38 years old. As I stated above, I never stayed in one school very long. I was fortunate that when we moved to New Jersey, I was starting the 5th grade. We ended up staying there till after I graduated high school. I was very shy in high school, so I did not participate in much. I was involved in my church youth group, and I sang in the choir at church. I had a best friend in high school named Ricky. We stayed in touch for a long time after high school, but unfortunately we lost touch with each other. I always knew I wanted to be a nurse. It took me a long time to get there. I was in my 20's when I started. I graduated from nursing school in 1993. I am a licensed practical nurse. I work at a wonderful nursing home. I have been there 10 years. It is a family owned business and they are there every day. I live approximately 2 minutes from work. I have worked in a hospital before, but knew this was my calling. I love taking care of the older generation. I have learned so much from them. Most of my residents that know what we are doing are very excited about what we are doing and can't wait to see our new addition.

My name is Larry and I am 34 years old. I was born and raised in a small town in North Carolina. As a child, I had many friends. Even though I was fairly shy, I got to know a lot of friends through my brother. We hung out a lot together because we were only two years apart. We played many different games and sports at our local parks. My brother and I also played baseball for the YMCA and little leaque. During my high school years, I was more involved in our church youth group than school activities. I started working in produce when I was 16 years old. I am currently a manager of produce at a large grocery retail store.

Larry and I live in a modest 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. The rooms are a nice size. We have an open floor plan. We have a large yard for the child to play in. We live in a rural neighborhood. We have several neighbors with children. A couple of kids that live close to us; I take care of there grandmother at the nursing home. We have a nice size park within walking distance to the house. We have a orange tabby cat named sassy. She came to join us not long ago. She is very friendly to everyone. Our church is approximately 20 minutes from us. I assist my brother in Sunday school. I also help out at the information table twice a month. We have a wonderful children's ministry. Our pastors both graduated from Rhema Bible College. They are a wonderful assest to us. They are on fire for God. We go out an witness to people in the community every week on Saturday. My parents go to the same church. It is so nice to be able to go to church with your family.

Thank you so much for considering us to be parents of your baby. We hope to talk with you soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

In God's love,

Larry and Karen
