Meet Jeff and Kristin
Dear Birthparent(s), We appreciate and admire your courage and strength during what must be a difficult time for you. We hope it gives you comfort that we, along with many other loving couples, want very much to give your baby a wonderful loving home and a life full of hope and possibility. We are so grateful for the opportunity to become parents and will dedicate ourselves to providing our children a strong moral, religious, and educational foundation. We thank you for considering us as parents for your baby and for taking the time to learn more about us and our family.
After a couple of years of marriage, we knew we were ready to expand our family and begin to attempt to become pregnant. Over a two-year period, Kristin had three miscarriages that were emotionally devastating. After a significant amount of time at doctors' offices, it became more and more apparent that adoption is the way that God wants us to expand our family. We have friends and co-workers who have adopted their children and their experiences have encouraged and inspired us. Through much prayer and research, we decided that we were being led to adopt our children. Whether it was adoption stories on television or meeting other adoptive parents and children, it became clear to us that God wants to give us wonderful children. When we learned about Link, its purpose and ministry solidified our decision to adopt. On July 2, 2004, our first child, John Patrick, was born in Ashville, North Carolina to two wonderful young people who decided that they were not ready for a child, but wanted to give John Patrick a loving, caring home with parents who were ready to raise a family. We were blessed with the opportunity to get to know John Patrick’s birthparents before he was born and have kept in touch with his birthmother ever since. We met John Patrick shortly after he was born and have cherished every moment with him. John Patrick is a great little boy who loves other children. He has friends both older and younger than him. He is very excited about the opportunity to have a little brother or sister to play with and to grow up with. Kristin has a master’s degree in microbiology and worked as a research scientist before John Patrick was born. Kristin is very close to her sister, Laurie, and her dad. Kristin's mom passed away in 2002 after a battle with melanoma. Her devotion to her family, her faith, and her spirit remain a prominent part of our lives. Kristin is a wonderful wife and mother. Kristin’s dad remarried in May of 2006 to a wonderful lady, JoAnne. JoAnne is great with John Patrick and is a cherished addition to our family. Kristin is in charge of our church’s Moms and Tots program and several other groups with other mothers in our community. Kristin also volunteers every week at our local Children’s Hospital. She has been a stay at home mom since John Patrick was born. Jeff is a partner in a medium size law firm. We are blessed that Jeff's firm is very family oriented and allows him the flexibility to spend plenty of time at home and with our family. Jeff has two brothers and two nephews. Jeff's dad is the pastor of a small church in North Carolina. Jeff's parents cannot wait to become grandparents, again. Jeff has a great sense of humor and will fill our children's life with fun and laughter. Family is the most important thing to us and our extended family. We also have plenty of close friends who have newborns and other small children who will be playmates and friends with our children. We also live in a nice neighborhood with a lot of young families with babies and small children. The neighborhood has a playground and a pool and has walking/biking trails that connect to our local park. Our children will have a great place to grow up and meet plenty of friends. We are very close to our friends, Kristy and Brent, who are the parents of our goddaughter, Anamaria. Anamaria is 5 years old and we spend as much time with her as possible. Anamaria’s little sister, Daniella, is 2 years old. We spend a lot of time with Kristy and Brent and frequently vacation together.
We have been blessed to live in a big house in a nice neighborhood. We have four bedrooms and a bonus room that makes a great playroom. Our neighborhood always has kids playing on the playground and around the neighborhood. The neighborhood has many picnics and other family events throughout the year. We also live in an excellent school district with schools that consistently rank as the top schools in the state. We are also blessed to be members of a great church. Our church is big enough to have tons of opportunities for children. Family and children are very important to our church. Our faith is the most important part of our lives. Thank you again for considering us as a family for your baby. We are so excited about the opportunity to give our complete love and devotion to a new baby. We want to give our children every opportunity in life and believe that we have the love and resources to do just that. Our prayers are with you as you make these very important decisions. Your child is blessed to have a birthmother who is selfless enough to make such a courageous decision. Jeff and Kristin ![]() To contact us call:
